DRESS CODE AND SHOES
Our dress code is designed to create a safe, respectful, and focused environment where every dancer can succeed. Proper attire and correct dance shoes allow instructors to clearly see technique and alignment, support full range of movement, and help keep classes free from distractions. Following the dress code also encourages discipline, builds professionalism, and helps dancers feel confident and prepared. We appreciate your support in helping us create the best experience for all students.

General Requirements
✦ Dancers must arrive in proper dress code, with hair neatly secured and out of the face.
✦ Only small stud earrings are permitted. All other jewelry must be removed, including Apple Watches, Fitbits, etc.
✦ Dancers must bring all necessary shoes for their classes.
✦ Proper undergarments are required.
✦ Dancers not in dress code may be asked to sit out of class.
✦ Shoe requirements are subject to change for certain performances such as competitions and recitals. Families will be notified by the instructor if an alternative shoe style or color will be required.
Tiny Tots/Rising Stars
Attire:
✦ Girls - Any color/pattern dance wear
> leotards, leggings, shorts, sports bras, or tank tops
Optional: convertible or stirrup tights
✦ Boys - Any color/pattern dance wear - pants, shorts, tank top, or shirt
Shoes:
✦ Girls - pink ballet shoes - any brand and tan Bloch Childrens Allie Tap Shoe or Linodes Easy Strap Tap Shoe
✦ Boys - black ballet shoes - any brand and black Bloch Childrens Allie Tap Shoe or Linodes Easy Strap Tap Shoe
Hair:
✦ Girls - Hair must be neatly pulled back and out of the face
✦ Boys - Hair must be neatly combed or pulled back and out of the face
Ballet/Pointe
Attire:
✦ Girls - Black leotard and pink tights
Optional: black ballet skirt (no shorts and no loose clothing)
Bras must be solid black
Tights must be intact and without runs or tears
✦ Boys - Solid black shorts and black shirt
Shoes:
✦ Girls - pink ballet shoes - any brand
Dancers en pointe must be first approved by TDE faculty and have their shoes professionally fitted
✦ Boys - black ballet shoes - any brand
Hair:
✦ Girls - Hair must be slicked back into a bun with no whispies
✦ Boys - Hair must be neatly combed or pulled back and out of the face
Tap
Attire:
✦ Girls - Black/TDE logo/studio color dance wear (teal, white, black)
> leotards, leggings, shorts, sports bras, or tank tops
Optional: convertible or stirrup tights
✦ Boys - Black/TDE logo/studio color dance wear (teal, white, black)
> pants, shorts, tank top, or shirt
Shoes:
✦ Girls - black Bloch Ladies Flex Slip On Leather Tap Shoes

Jazz / Improv / Musical Theatre / Stretch and Strength / Jumps, Leaps, Turns

✦ All - Clean sneakers that ARE NOT worn outside

✦ Girls - Hair must be neatly pulled back and out of the face
✦ Boys - Hair must be neatly combed or pulled back and out of the face
Contemporary/Lyrical
Attire:
✦ Girls - Black/TDE logo/studio color dance wear (teal, white, black)
> leotards, leggings, shorts, sports bras, or tank tops
Optional: convertible or stirrup tights
✦ Boys - Black/TDE logo/studio color dance wear (teal, white, black)
> pants, shorts, tank top, or shirt
Shoes:
✦ All - Skin colored Capezio FootUndeez and/or half soles - any brand
Hair:
✦ Girls - Hair must be neatly pulled back and out of the face
✦ Boys - Hair must be neatly combed or pulled back and out of the face
Acro/Tumble
Attire:
✦ Girls - Black/TDE logo/studio color dance wear (teal, white, black)
> leotards, leggings, shorts, sports bras, or tank tops
Optional: convertible or stirrup tights
✦ Boys - Black/TDE logo/studio color dance wear (teal, white, black)
> pants, shorts, tank top, or shirt
Shoes:
✦ All - None
Hair:

TDE Unified Dance
Attire:
✦ Girls - Any color/pattern dance wear

Shoes:
✦ Girls - Tan slip on jazz shoes or bare feet
✦ Boys - Black slip on jazz shoes or bare feet
Hair:
✦ Girls - Hair must be neatly pulled back and out of the face
✦ Boys - Hair must be neatly combed or pulled back and out of the face
If the attire, shoes, or hair requirements for this class are a challenge for your dancer, please speak with the instructor so we can find a suitable remedy!
