POLICIES

At The Dance Elements & Acrobatics (TDE), we are committed to creating a positive, safe, and inspiring environment where every dancer feels supported, challenged, and confident. The following policies are designed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all dancers and families while maintaining the structure needed for our classes to thrive.

Enrollment & Class Placement

Enrollment at TDE is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and a non-refundable annual registration fee is required to reserve a dancer’s spot. Class placement is thoughtfully determined based on age, experience, and instructor discretion to ensure each dancer is set up for success.

Our instructors may suggest a different class placement at any time if it better supports a dancer’s growth and development. Additionally, classes must meet a minimum enrollment in order to run, and TDE reserves the right to adjust the schedule if needed

Tuition

Tuition at TDE reflects a full season of training and may be divided into convenient monthly payments. Payments are due on the 1st of each month, and families are responsible for keeping their accounts current.

To keep things running smoothly:
✦ Late payments may incur a fee
✦ Accounts with outstanding balances may result in removal from class or performances
✦ All tuition and fees are non-refundable

We appreciate your understanding, as consistent tuition allows us to provide high-quality instruction and maintain our programs.

Please visit our Tuition and Fees page for more information.

Attendance and Commitment

Consistency is key to a dancer’s progress and confidence. We strongly encourage dancers to attend all scheduled classes and to notify the director if they will be absent.

Attendance is taken at the beginning of each class and kept on record.

While we understand that conflicts arise, excessive absences may impact a dancer’s ability to safely participate in choreography, particularly as performances approach.
Limited make-up classes may be offered as a courtesy and must be arranged through the studio.

Dress Code

Proper dance attire helps dancers move safely and allows instructors to provide the best possible corrections. Each class has a designated dress code, including appropriate shoes and hair secured away from the face.

For safety and focus:
✦ Jewelry should not be worn (small stud earrings are acceptable)
✦ Dancers who are not dressed appropriately may be asked to observe class

Please visit our Dress Code and Shoes page for more information.

Arrival, Pick-Up, and Studio Safety

To keep our studio environment safe and organized, dancers should arrive no more than 10 minutes before their scheduled class time and be picked up promptly afterward.

TDE is only responsible for dancers during their scheduled class time. We ask that families:
✦ Ensure timely drop-off and pick-up
✦ Supervise siblings at all times
✦ Respect studio spaces and safety guidelines

Behavior and Studio Culture

At TDE, we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and respectful community.
Dancers are expected to demonstrate kindness, focus, and respect toward instructors and fellow dancers. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in a dancer being asked to sit out or, if necessary, be removed from class.

We also expect all parent and guardian interactions with staff and other families to remain respectful and positive.

Communication

Clear communication is essential to a successful studio experience. Important updates, reminders, and announcements will be shared through email and the TDE Dancer Dashboard.

Families are responsible for staying informed, and we kindly ask that you allow 24–48 hours for responses to non-urgent inquiries.

Recital and Performances

Our annual recital is a highlight of the dance season and a wonderful opportunity for dancers to showcase their growth. Participation is mandatory, and more details will be shared throughout the year.

Please note:
✦ Costume fees and deadlines will be communicated in advance
✦ Attendance at rehearsals is required for performance participation
✦ Recital tickets will be required for audience members

Costumes

Costumes are ordered well in advance to ensure timely delivery. Once costumes are ordered, fees are non-refundable. Families are responsible for any minor alterations and for ensuring costumes are properly cared for and brought to all required events.

Company Team and Acro Team

For dancers participating in our Company and Acro Teams, an additional level of commitment is required. This includes consistent attendance, participation in required classes, and attendance at rehearsals, competitions, and events.

Company families will receive detailed information regarding expectations, fees, and schedules.

Visit our Company Team page and Acro Team page for more information.

Missed Classes and Withdrawals

Make-up classes may be offered on a limited basis as a courtesy but are not guaranteed. Because tuition reserves a dancer’s spot in class, refunds or credits are not issued for missed classes.

If a dancer needs to withdraw, a 14-day written notice is required. Tuition will continue during this notice period, and all prior payments remain non-refundable.

Health, Safety, and Liability

The health and safety of our dancers and families is a top priority.
Dancers should remain home if they are ill and may return once they have been symptom-free for 24 hours. Please notify the studio about any absences.

Dance and acrobatics are physical activities that carry inherent risks. By enrolling at TDE, families acknowledge and accept these risks, and a signed liability waiver is required for participation.

Media Release

Photos and videos may be taken during classes, competitions, or events to celebrate our dancers and promote the studio. These may be used on our website or social media platforms.

Families who prefer not to have their dancer included must notify the studio in writing.

Closures and Cancellations

In the event of inclement weather or unexpected closures, updates will be communicated via email and/or text message. Decisions regarding make-up classes will be made at the studio’s discretion.

At The Dance Elements and Acrobatics, we are proud to be more than just a dance studio—we are a community where dancers grow, connect, and truly feel in their Element!

We thank you for your support, cooperation, and trust in our studio.
